Dave’s philanthropy focuses on people who are too often overlooked: students without access, children born with clefts, AAPI storytellers, underrepresented creators, and institutions that expand opportunity over time.

Through board service, scholarships, grants, nonprofit support, and his family foundation, Dave backs people and institutions that help opportunity reach those too often left out.

Education & Opportunity

Dave supports students pursuing engineering, business, writing, entertainment, entrepreneurship, and creative careers.

His support includes scholarships, internships, fellowships, and student prizes through programs at the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, Kelly Writers House, RealArts, and other education-focused initiatives.

Health & Human Dignity

Dave supports Smile Train’s mission to help children and families affected by clefts receive life-changing care, education, and long-term support.

As Chairman of Smile Train’s Philanthropic Advisory Council, Dave helps advance work that gives children not only surgery, but also confidence, opportunity, and a stronger future.

Catalytic Giving

Dave brings an investor’s discipline and a storyteller’s empathy to philanthropy.

Through The Dave A. Liu and Lauren Wu Family Foundation, he supports initiatives that can compound opportunity over time, especially in education, health, AAPI representation, entrepreneurship, and creative access.

Dave also donates 100% of his net proceeds from THE WAY OF THE WALL STREET WARRIOR to charities supporting children born with clefts, Asian Americans, and underrepresented groups.
